BRYCE ROBERT WELLS (17 YEARS)
Bryce was born at Lismore Base Hospital on 6th August 1989. He was the second son of Robert & Jackie. He had a big brother Kyle and a little brother Ryan.
Bryce attended primary school at Goonellabah Public and then to high school at Kadina High in Goonellabah. He loved school, loved his friends and his weekend sports throughout his life that included T ball, Baseball and Cricket. Bryce was undertaking a Retail Traineeship as part of his HSC studies and had set his goals to undertake a Management Traineeship on completion of Year 12.
Bryce loved cars and in addition to being a careful, safe driver he would spend Saturdays washing, cleaning, vacuuming and doing the maintenance on his own car.
Bryce was a keen follower of the V8 Supercars and attended many venues including Bathurst, QLD Raceway and Indy on the Gold Coast.
Bryce was an inquisitive person, a quiet achiever with a steely resolve to set goals and achieve them. He constantly demonstrated his ability to be a competent, reliable person and was respected by anyone he came in contact with, always having a smile for everyone.
Bryce will never be forgotten by anyone he touched
COREY ROBERT NEW (16 YEARS)
Corey was born in Shellharbour Public Hospital on the 3rd March 1990. He was the first born of two children to Ann & Mark. In 1993 his sister Jessie was born.
His love of sport was a constant throughout his short life, participating in Bumper Bowling, T-Ball, Soccer, Golf, Karate and various other sports. Corey was house Sport Captain in both Primary School and High School.
Corey’s also had a love of music. He purchased a Drum kit and became the "self taught" drummer at home, at school performances. His favourite school performance was "So Fresh '76", which was also in 2006. Music had been one of his electives for his senior schooling.
Corey had also embarked on a retail traineeship with Big W as part of his HSC studies. Whilst he enjoyed his employ with them and had set his sights on a management position for the future, he also made many new friends within the organisation.
His lifelong love of Soccer led him to become a referee. This position afforded him a chance to spend more time with the sport he loved, whilst also broadening his already vast circle of acquaintances. His club associations with both Lismore Workers FC and the Goonellabah Hornets has instigated the "Corey New Cup". The inaugural game was held on what was to have been Corey’s 17th Birthday, 3 March 2007, and will become an annual event between the two clubs.
One of the proudest moments of Corey's life, was the day he was elected in 2006 by his peers and teachers to become School Captain of Kadina High.
Corey's heros were "his friends" and we now know that the circle of friends and others who loved him is very vast. He will always be extremely loved and missed by his family and friends. He was and will remain a hero, champion and mate to many people.
MITCHELL RYAN EVELEIGH (16 YEARS)
Mitch was born at Singleton Hospital NSW, in the Hunter Valley, on the 4th of November 1989. He was the second child to Robert and Karen and brother to Logan and Rachel.
Mitch attempted many sports and activities growing up. At the age of 12 he was bought the first of many guitars, his love and natural ability for music was discovered. A star was born. By 14 he had formed his first band 'Grimace', he wrote all the music for the original songs they performed. The money they raised performing live was used to cut their first CD in 2003.
Mitch moved to Goonellabah and began attending Kadina High in year 9 2004. His musical ability improved enormously, the musical teaching and support was superior and diverse. He could truly make his guitar talk and no musical piece was too hard to master. He could bring tears to many eyes. He was a bright student achieving straight A's and was looking toward a UNI education. Mitch set his goals and achieved them quietly.
Mitch loved having fun with mates, but was equally happy sitting on the lounge watching the Simpsons. He had a great love, loyalty and devotion to mates. Most friends remember him for his smile, ability to make them laugh and 'the music'. He was a great son to be proud of.
Mitch you are a legend.
PAUL CHRISTOPHER JASON MORRIS (16 YEARS)
Paul Christopher Jason Morris was born on 18th November 1989 at Lismore NSW.
Paul was the eldest son of Maria Bolt and Matt Callahan and brother of Jackson, Christy and Tyler. Paul attended primary school at St Kevins Dee Why, Goonellabah Public, St Carthages – Lismore and Lismore Heights Public schools. His secondary schooling included Woodlawn College and Kadina High School.
Paul's sports included spear fishing, archery, touch football and especially swimming. Paul showed a keen interest in the automotive industry and left school at year 10 to enrol in the Automotive Trades Course at Wollongbar TAFE campus.
Paul applied himself to his studies and was offered a Panel Beating/Spray Painting apprenticeship with a local business that he was to commence on the Monday following the crash.
